Thanks so much ![]()
I've just found a reference to Ikinari Bopper on VORC.
In reference to NerdRix:
It's simplified than the older versions called Ikinari Bopper, and is designed to be easier for beginners though scale capability is a bit narrowed.
So I'm guessing that Ikinari Bopper is a more complex version of NerdRix?
Offline
email me and ill let you know if i find that labsound rom
Offline
pocket music is pretty crappy
dont bother with it ![]()
it's like a really complex way to make a really bad loop in lsdj
also gameboy camera's music section is like 3 very very limited sequencers without key changes so you'll be stuck in one key the entire time. the wav editor is really cool and you can make like any shape you would like, however everything else will get way boring way quick haha
i'm interested in the Visual Impact Music System and UCBN...can't find them anywhere...but i've tried out all the others -- nerdrix, stepgirl, and electric drums are my favorites so far (excluding lsdj)
if anyone could help me out with those two roms, i'd greatly appreciate it!!![]()

I uploaded Ikinari Bopper for those who are interested:
http://www.randomizer.se/dropbox/ikinari_ee_1.5.gb
It's quite fun to play with, and useful for live performances as well. It's heavily based on Ikinari Musician for Famicom (commercial "game" released in Japan only), which I know Hally uses in in live shows for instance... Here's a nice video of Hally and Kaz going wild on Ikinari Musician emulated on GBA, backed up by Chibi-Tech on Muddy GB, at Blip Festival 2007: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eYRba0vd2M

Paragon 5 Tracker and Boyscout are for PC. You might wanna add the older version of nanovoice aswell (sometimes called nanosynth).

Sorry, I should've specified. I've included PC software and I one or two GBA programs.
And I already listed nanosynth ;P

You can open .gz on windows with WinRAR. It's a free tool.

The original Nanovoice (Nanosynth) ROM can be found here:
http://swiki.hfbk-hamburg.de:8888/MusicTechnology/132
and the new version which was released on a limited run of carts can be found here:
http://nanoloop.com/nv.html
Also people ask about Nanoloop demos:
1.2 (older version) - http://www.nanoloop.com/nl12demo.gb
1.3 - http://www.nanoloop.com/nl13d.gb
There is no demo version for 2.x yet.

Sorry if I'm a bit of a n00b to this, I have a few of these (edrums, Stepgirl etc) but I was wondering if any of these ROMs offer anything like LSDJ/Nanoloop? All the ones I've tried seem to be cool but limited, and I'd like to try something different to Nanoloop and LSDJ. Cheers!

actually, there is, more or less
http://www.nanoloop.com/nl.bin
rename the extension to .gba and this is the full rom for nanoloop 2.1 (or 2.2, i forget if theres any difference besides the flash ram & number of saves, neither matter in the demo rom)

Ive made a bit of music on Boyscout, is it okay to upload it on 8bitcollective?
Does it really qualify as 8 bit, i mean, technically its an Game Boy Advance emulation on PC...

does anyone have it still?
i can host if anyone does..

I played around with Paragon 5 once, I was confused with it, but I have heard some awesome stuff made with it. It is fascinating that each program can have a sort of signature sound even though it is on the same system. When I hear gameboy musix made on Paragon, it seems to have a more NES-ey feel to it.

The latest song i Uploaded was actually Boyscout haha, i used that for the first few months of my chiptunes. i like it ![]()

Yes it is ok, It's 16-bit (8bitCollective.com is not just for 8-bit music!) There are loads of diffrent things people use of here. And it is a Gameboy Advance tracker, most chiptune on here is made from gameboys anyway!

Thank you for all of the links, I love MuddyGB! I'll have to order one of those USB card readers ASAP.
Want to post some links in that first post?
I'm having trouble finding a lot of these.

pixelh8's sotware.. seems to be very specialized for live play. personally i do not care for the program's interface or the "bells and whistles" of having hundreds of different keys to play in if i can't really record or save the music i'm making on the cart.

Muddy GB is limited but excellent for back-up melodies and such. I don't use it much, but I do use it for live tunes. ![]()

I know this is an old thread, but I've stumbled across Nerdrix and was messing around on my GBA emulator (soon to be getting a cartridge from kitsch with it) and was wondering why this was as well, if anyone has any insight?

Ok so I haven't ever heard any music which convinced me to use gb software other than lsdj, nanoloop, and trippy h. So it would be nice if you could post a link to an interesting song made with each respective bit of software as examples, where possible
